The Oakland Raiders fired head coach Dennis Allen over the phone on Thursday without a clear choice for interim coach in place.
Per ESPN's Ed Werder, general manager Reggie McKenzie will choose between three on-staff options for the team's head coach for the remainder of 2014:

Former Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano (and current Raiders offensive line coach/assistant) is currently believed to be the front runner to replace Allen.
However, offensive coordinator Greg Olson and senior offensive assistant Al Saunders are both considered to be in good standing with team ownership and McKenzie, keeping their names in the hat until an announcement is actually made.
