The Oakland Raiders have the salary cap space to make a splash in the opening days of the 2015 NFL free agency period, and what better way to do that than by pursuing the NFL's leading rusher for the 2014 season.
According to former NFL scout and Raiders radio postgame show contributor John Middlekauff, the Oakland Raiders are "in" on free-agent running back DeMarco Murray:

Murray was the focal point of the NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys' offense in 2014, rushing for a league-leading 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns along with catching 57 passes for 416 yards.
Negotiations with the Cowboys prior to the free agency period didn't bring about the type of money and long-term security. That coupled with Dallas' decision to use its franchise tender on wide receiver Dez Bryant has resulted in the 27-year-old Murray finding his way to the open market.
However, whether or not the Raiders are truly willing to fork over the substantial coin necessary to pry Murray away from the Cowboys and/or other suitors (such as the Arizona Cardinals and Tampa Bay Bucs) still remains to be seen.
