In this Raiders news and rumors update, the Oakland Raiders have two very intriguing battles currently being waged for their primary kick and punt returner jobs going into the season.
In regars to the punt return duties, Allen indicates that nothing is set in stone in the competition between T.J. Carrie and Denarius Moore.
"It hasn't been determined," Raiders head coach Dennis Allen said of the punt return job, via Levi Damien of SBNation.com. "I think both [T.J. Carrie] and Denarius Moore have done a nice job. Both of them had effective returns in the game the other night. We're going to continue look at both of those guys as potential punt return options, and again we've got a couple more games to look at that, but I feel more comfortable now with where we're at from a punt return standpoint than I did coming into training camp, that's for sure."
Looking forward to Friday's preseason matchup with the Green Bay Packers, Allen has also pinpointed two top contenders for the job of kick returner.
"The two guys we're looking at right now as primary options would be Latavius Murray and Kory Sheets," said Allen. "Both those guys should get some opportunities in the game."
With several of the Raiders' other key positions already locked down, all eyes will be on the team's special teams unit during the last two games of August.
