The Oakland Raiders could have DJ Hayden back sooner rather than later, with the second-year cornerback slated to return to practice this week after suffering a major right foot injury during this past offseason.
Per Scott Bair of CSN California, head coach Tony Sparano sees nothing holding Hayden back going forward:
As he said last week, Tony Sparano reiterated that CB DJ Hayden will start practicing this week. No setbacks. All systems go.

Hayden missed the final eight games of 2013 with a groin injury. After suffering his foot injury this past offseason, the Raiders placed him on the Physically Unable To Perform list.
Per Scott Corkran of the Bay Area News Group, "players on the PUP list are required to miss at least the first six weeks of the season. Once a player is removed from the PUP — at any point during a five-week period that starts this week -- the team has a 21-day window in which to evaluate the player before making a decision on whether to activate him to the 53-man roster, waive him or place him on season-ending injured reserve."
Despite missing the Raiders last 13 regular-season games (and 17 overall), the Raiders remain committed to helping mold Hayden into the shutdown corner they so need in the secondary.
