It was tough and intense for the first day at the 2013 mandatory minicamp of the Oakland Raiders. Most of the quarterbacks got much of the in heat criticisms of new head coach Dennis Allen that it seems he forgot it was just a practice session.
Allen emphasized on the need for consistency both on the offense and defense. He believes that this will be the primary focus of the training camp. The preseason will also be under the handling of offensive coordinator Greg Olsen. However, it can be hard to reach consistency when there are way too much concepts to consider that also keep on changing more and more.
Some confusion was glaring from quarterbacks Matt Flynn and Tyrelle Pryor which is not so good for the team. There were only tiny accomplishments during the minicamp’s first day. Coach Allen stressed it all the more that preparing for the training camp should be considered as a marathon and not just a sprint. He promised the team and everyone else that he will not be put down by any bumps that he may encounter along the way as the Oakland Raiders start off the season.
