With the third pick in the second round (No. 35 overall), the Oakland Raiders have selected Mario Edwards, Jr., out of Florida State.
Position: Defensive Line
Measurables: 6’3”, 279 lbs, 33 1/4” arm length, 11” hands
Analysis:
Edwards is a bit of a tweener - he's best as a 3-4 defensive end or a 4-3 defensive tackle who is excellent as stopping the run. He largely failed to reach expectations while at Florida State, fitting in as another good player instead of a dominant force, but has unlimited potential if he improves his work ethic and commits to playing hard all the time.
