It’s 10:00 p.m. on a Saturday night, which means it’s the perfect time for a surprise football commitment.
Malachi Wood, a 6-foot-8, 290-pound offensive tackle out of Madison Central High School (KY) announced through social media that he has committed to join the Kentucky Wildcats football program. The 3-star recruit becomes the fourth class of 2023 pickup for head coach Mark Stoops, as he joins Shamar Porter, Kaden Moorman, and Ty Bryant. Wood chose the ‘Cats over the likes of Kansas, Maryland, Purdue, Louisville, and a few others.
Just an hour before Wood made his decision, Kentucky associate head coach Vince Marrow teased that he felt “some dice about to roll” and, of course, the Big Dog came through.
