AUBURN, Ala. — If Kentucky’s closer-than-expected win over Vanderbilt on Wednesday proved how important Nick Richards is to this team, the Wildcats’ loss at Auburn Saturday pounded home the point that the team’s best players have to perform against quality opponents.
Sophomore point guard Ashton Hagans was limited to just five points and three assists with six turnovers in 21 minutes before fouling out as the No. 13 Wildcats fell 75-66 at No. 16 Auburn. Richards was also a non-factor for much of the game, finishing the contest with seven points and seven rebounds
Even when he was on the court, Hagans was far from his best, recording six turnovers and just three assists.
