LEXINGTON – To hear the SEC Network broadcast crew tell it, Kentucky quarterback Terry Wilson was on the verge of losing his starting job before Saturday’s historic win at Tennessee.
“Jeremey Pruitt told us yesterday about (Tennessee quarterback) Jarrett Guarantano, ‘I believe in him,’” play-by-play man Tom Hart said before the opening kickoff. “Mark Stoops told us this week, ‘Terry Wilson needs to produce. We've got a backup behind him that's ready to go.’”
Just in case that distinction between the two SEC East quarterbacks, both of whom had posted inconsistent performances thus far this season, was not clear enough, Hart took his analysis one step further, saying Stoops told the television crew, “If he plays like he played, I'm going to make a change.
