LEXINGTON, Ky. – It’s Kentucky-Louisville rivalry week, and as has been the case for most of the last 30 years, Rick Pitino is in the news.
But this year the man who has become one of the most polarizing figures in the state’s sports history is not making headlines for his role coaching one of the college basketball rivals. He is in the news for taking a professional coaching job in Greece just more than a year after he was fired by Louisville.
With Pitino in Europe, the UK-U of L rivalry is left to find how to move on without him.
