LEXINGTON – If Kentucky football is to extend its Governor’s Cup winning streak to three games versus rival Louisville, the Wildcats will likely need the help of a least a couple Louisville natives.
Redshirt freshman Izayah Cummings, a Male alum, has blossomed this season after moving from wide receiver to tight end with 13 catches for 182 yards and four touchdowns. Sophomore outside linebacker J.J. Weaver, a Moore graduate, leads the team in sacks (six) and ranks second in tackles for loss (nine).
With Kentucky’s defense tasked with slowing down dynamic Louisville quarterback Malik Cunningham, the play of Weaver could be particularly important.
