Why Liam Coen’s offense will be successful for the current Kentucky pass-catchers

It’s Masters Sunday, a tradition unlike any other as Jim Nantz would say, and the top golfers are ready to tee off. While that event was happening, Mark Stoops and Kentucky Football held its first spring scrimmage on Saturday.

A new addition on the sidelines is offensive coordinator Liam Coen, who came over from the Los Angeles Rams where he was previously the Assistant Wide Receivers coach from 2018-2019 and Assistant Quarterbacks coach in 2020.

During his time with Los Angeles–where he helped coach back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons by two receivers, something not done by the Rams since the times of Issac Bruce and Torry Holt–Coen helped turn third-round pick Cooper Kupp and Buffalo signee Robert Woods into consistent 1,000-yard receivers and deep threats in Sean McVay’s everchanging offense.
