LEXINGTON, Ky. – When breaking down the Kentucky basketball roster, freshman Keldon Johnson might be the best draft prospect. Freshman EJ Montgomery might have the most upside. Graduate Student Reid Travis might be the most consistent Wildcat.
But ask University of Kentucky associate head coach Kenny Payne who the Wildcats’ x-factor is, and the answer is none of those players.
It’s sophomore PJ Washington.
“I think he’s the type of player that when he’s at his best our team is like really good,” Payne said. “…I think when we play great or we lose — I hate to say it to you guys in the media — I look at him.
