Redshirt freshman guard Dontaie Allen watched the second half of Kentucky's loss to Louisville from the Wildcats' bench with his warmups already off, hoping to check in at a moment's notice.
Instead, for the second time in three games, the former Mr. Kentucky basketball did not play at all.
"He’s going to have a chance," Kentucky coach John Calipari said after Kentucky's 62-59 loss. "It just wasn’t tonight. I coached the game to win. That’s all I did."
Calipari said Allen was on notice he might be needed in the annual rivalry game after freshman guard Terrence Clarke missed practice time this week due to an ankle injury.
