The mystery surrounding Kentucky’s young secondary grew exponentially following the loss of Kentucky’s most experienced defensive back. At Wednesday’s kickoff luncheon at Kroger Field, defensive coordinator Brad White discussed Davonte Robinson’s season-ending injury for the first time.
“First off, we as a coaching staff feel for D-Rob,” White said. “He’s put in a lot of time. He was ready to have a breakout season, but he’ll come back better than ever.”
A former four-star recruit, Robinson played in all 13 games in 2018, recording 42 tackles, 3.0 TFL, four PBUs and two fumble recoveries. Without D-Rob, White has a few other former four-star recruits at his disposal.
