LEXINGTON — College football’s early signing period closed Friday with Mark Stoops’ staff having completed much of the heavy lifting for the 2020 class.
Kentucky announced 20 signees this week, 13 of whom were rated as four-star prospects by at least one of the three major recruiting services. With scholarships already tight on the 85-man 2020 roster, there is not room for many more additions.
Stoops said Wednesday there were three targets in the class remaining, and four-star Louisiana prep defensive back Joel Williams took one of those spots Thursday. Here’s a closer look at where things stand with the team’s top two uncommitted targets and the one verbal commitment who did not sign this week:
DB Vito Tisdale
UK has already signed four of the top eight players in the Kentucky high school senior class according to the 247Sports Composite ranking, but Stoops could add a fifth player from that group with Bowling Green safety Vito Tisdale set to announce in January.
