As a true freshman in 2006, Micah Johnson recorded 29 tackles and later was selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team. Johnson made a surprise appearance at running back in the Music City Bowl, scoring a Kentucky’s first touchdown of the game from the one-yard line in the win over Clemson.
In his sophomore season, Johnson recorded 58 tackles and two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown. As a junior, Johnson finished second on the team in tackles with 93, the best season of his career. Received multiple All-SEC honors, including first team by the SEC coaches, second team by Rivals.
