LEXINGTON – It should come as no surprise that Jacquez Jones was in the middle of cementing Kentucky football’s first win over Florida in Lexington since 1986.
The senior linebacker tipped Florida’s fourth-down heave into the end zone to end any chance of the Gators tying the game in the final minute. It was the latest in a growing collection of big plays in key moments through the first five games of Jones’s Kentucky career.
It is only fitting that Jones has stepped up when Kentucky needed him most. That is the story of his path to Lexington as well.
