What's more important than bragging rights over U of L? Kentucky's chance for resume boost

LEXINGTON – After watching his team lose both games on a trip to Las Vegas, Kentucky coach John Calipari decided to launch a thought experiment.

While meeting with his team, he asked any player who felt he was playing good — not great, just good — to raise his hand. Only one did.

How many felt they were playing bad? The group of raised hands was much larger.

“Think about if we can get guys to start playing better what we’ll be,” Calipari said. “That’s why I keep saying the upside of this team is tremendous, but they’re not there which means I must be doing a crap job not getting them to play better.
