LEXINGTON - Kentucky football has its first win.
Despite totaling just 157 yards of offense, the Wildcats rode six interceptions and a stellar defensive showing to a 24-2 win over Mississippi State. Kentucky held Mississippi State to 291 yards, more than 200 less than its season average, and prevented Mike Leach's "Air Raid" offense from scoring any points.
Kentucky won despite a miserable night from the offense. Quarterback Terry Wilson completed just 8 of 20 passes for 73 yards and one touchdown. The normally potent run game totaled just 132 yards, not including a 48-yard loss on a bad punt snap.
