LEXINGTON, Ky. - Who needs a fifth-year senior bruiser in the post?
Kentucky certainly did not miss injured starting forward Reid Travis in an 80-53 rout of Auburn Saturday.
Travis, who sprained his right knee in Kentucky’s Tuesday win at Missouri, was replaced in the starting lineup by freshman forward EJ Montgomery, but it was Kentucky’s work on the perimeter that made the difference against an Auburn team better known for its 3-point shooting.
The Wildcats hit 11 of 24 3-point shots in the game with sophomore forward PJ Washington accounting for 15 points beyond the arc by hitting 5 of 8 3-point attempts.
