North Carolina and Xavier made it into the 2025 NCAA Tournament despite only having one Quad 1 victory each. The Tar Heels are 1-12 vs. Quad 1 competition while the Musketeers are 1-9. North Carolina also has a Quad 3 loss.
Somehow, West Virginia did not get into the Big Dance with six Quad 1 wins and no bad losses.
As a result, the state’s governor is launching an investigation into the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee, which happens to be chaired by UNC’s AD.
“West Virginia deserved to be in the NCAA tournament,” Governor Patrick Morrisey said Monday.
