Welcome Home, Wan’Dale Robinson

I was asked to speak to the Western Hills football team a few years ago. I obliged, of course. One player jumped out to me during practice and it wasn’t for his speed, twitchiness, or sure-handedness. In addition to being ultra-talented, the Wolverine athlete was a natural leader and the hardest working player on the team. For those asking, that’s somewhat rare. He was always first during sprints and ran through the end zone throughout offensive drills. That player was then high school sophomore Wan’Dale Robinson. I singled him out and asked that he join me on the podium where I told him that one day he’d be playing in the SEC.
