Kentucky didn’t win last night, and not many expected them to. But the shame of it is that when the game was actually played, they should have won. The reason they didn’t is what John Calipari has continuously talked about: growing pains. The Cats couldn’t rebound, they moved the ball sloppily, they didn’t shoot well and they didn’t get the ball to Kevin Knox enough.
The encouraging thing is that all of that is fixable, and it likely will be fixed (if it’s not, this team is out by the second weekend).
The growing pains are rough, but they’re necessary for this team to reach its full potential.
