John Sumrall has been a welcomed addition to UK’s coaching staff. The former Kentucky inside linebacker now coaches Kentucky’s inside linebackers, one of the better position groups on the team, and on Wednesday he proved his worth on the recruiting trail by landing Josaih Hayes, the second-best player in Mississippi.
A four-star defensive tackle, Hayes picked Kentucky over Ole Miss (and offers from all over the SEC) thanks to Sumrall’s recruiting of Hayes until the very end. Mark Stoops said, “That was an enormous get for us and that was one that you really kind of feel like you pulled a rabbit out of a hat.
