Shortly after announcing he has declared for the NBA Draft and is keeping his name in, Tyrese Maxey hopped on a video call with The Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears to talk about it.
“April 6 was written down on my calendar, on my wall, and I saw it every single morning when I woke up to brush my teeth,” Maxey said. “It was a goal of mine. I wanted to be able to be a part of something special, win a national championship, so I wanted to make today significant.”
Maxey also described the impact the coronavirus pandemic is having on his training regimen and what it would be like if an in-person draft isn’t possible.
