Things got extra chippy in the early morning matchup at the Big Ten Tournament.
As Michigan and Maryland returned to the benches for a media timeout, Wolverines’ head coach Juwan Howard had some words to share with the Terps’ Mark Turgeon. It quickly turned into more than just a few words.
According to a BTN sideline reporter, Howard was telling his players to “use your head,” as trash talk amplified between the two teams. He did not practice what he preached after somebody chirped from the Maryland bench. It took a crew of assistant coaches to corral Howard as the benches cleared.
