Believe it or not, this is Mark Stoops’ eleventh season at Kentucky, a fact that Stoops reflected on during his opening statement at Media Day.
“Excited about this team,” Stoops said after thanking the media. “Going into year 11, it’s hard to believe. Joked about it before: sometimes it feels like an eternity, and sometimes it feels like the blink of an eye. It’s been a journey, to say the least.”
From there, Stoops commented on how much has changed in college football during his tenure in Lexington, specifically the transfer portal and NIL. He also gave an injury update (OT Nik Hall is likely out for the season), the renovated Nutter Field House, Liam Coen’s return, the offensive line, Devin Leary, Deone Walker, and rule changes for the 2023 season.
