Kentucky’s 31-0 win over Youngstown State on Saturday was about far more than what happened on the field. The town of Youngstown, OH is the birthplace of several key Wildcats on staff, most importantly head football coach Mark Stoops. Friends and family of Mark made the trip to Lexington over the weekend to celebrate him becoming the program’s all-time winningest coach.
In fact, the entire Stoops family is from Youngstown. Mark’s father Ron was the longtime defensive coordinator at the nearby Cardinal Mooney High School and Ron’s love for football didn’t take long to trickle down the family tree.
