WATCH: Anthony Davis gives advice to EJ Montgomery

In the eight-minute discussion, Davis reflects on his year at Kentucky and how it prepared him for the NBA, specifically how hard John Calipari and Kenny Payne pushed him, the level of competition in practice, and the loyalty of the Big Blue Nation.

“It’s not easy. It’s not easy to win here. The fans are loyal. Great fan base. Cal’s going to push you. KP’s going to push you. But it’s the best thing you can ask for. It bettered me as a player, as a person, as a teammate. There’s nothing like it.”

Davis told EJ that when he came to Kentucky, he was so bad in the post because he played guard in high school that if his teammates threw him the ball under the basket in practice, Calipari made them run.
