Vanderbilt defeated Texas A&M 79-68 Wednesday night in the first round of the SEC Tournament in Nashville. It’s the Commodores first SEC Tournament victory since they defeated the Aggies in Bryce Drew’s first season back in 2017.
The only Wednesday night game in 2021 thanks to Auburn’s postseason ban, Texas A&M fought back from an early double digit deficit to tie the game with 12:25 remaining. They spent all of their steam on that one run. Vanderbilt scored 12 of the next 16 points and never looked back.
