For the second straight season, injuries have sidelined Vanderbilt’s best basketball player.
Aaron Nesmith suffered a stress fracture in his foot in the Commodores’ 83-79 loss to undefeated Auburn. According to the school’s newspaper, the Vanderbilt Hustler, Nesmith is expected to miss the rest of the 2019-20 season.
Nesmith leads the SEC in scoring, averaging 23 points per game on 49.7 percent shooting from the field and 50.5 percent from behind the three-point line. This season the sharpshooter has already posted a pair of 30-point games.
Commodore basketball fans must feel snake-bit. Last year Vanderbilt lost Darius Garland just five games into the season.
