The training camp roster for the 2018 USA Basketball Men’s U17 World Cup Team was released Wednesday and it features some young high school stars who could one day become Wildcats.
James Wiseman, Coach Cal’s top target in the 2019 class, is the most notable name of the bunch. Vernon Carey is another elite UK target, as is Scottie Barnes, a high school sophomore who just recently earned his scholarship offer from Kentucky. Bowling Green’s Zion Harmon is another name of note.
As for the group as a whole, it includes all 12 members of the gold-medal winning 2017 USA U16 national team, as well as 10 players with experience from at least one prior USA Basketball training camp and two players new to USA Basketball.
