The USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team defeated Canada 99-84 to claim the gold medal at the 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Championship in Valdivia, Chile on Saturday night. As one might expect where any collection of elite high school basketball talent is concerned, several Kentucky 2017 recruiting targets were in the thick of the action.
P.J. Washington of Frisco, Texas and Findlay Prep in Nevada poured in 19 points and grabbed five rebounds in a starting effort. The 6-foot-7 power forward is ranked No. 15 overall in the current 2017 247Sports Composite. Though thought to be a Texas lean, Kentucky is front and center in the recruiting battle.
