What a night (err… season?) for college basketball. Both No. 6 Duke and No. 13 Auburn went down to unranked opponents Wednesday evening, as Duke lost 88-66 to NC State and Auburn lost 65-66 to the Georgia Bulldogs.
Anthony Edwards led the charge at home against Auburn, finishing with 18 points for Tom Crean and the Bulldogs, including a late 3-pointer to halt the Tigers’ comeback attempt. The game marked Auburn’s second consecutive loss to an unranked opponent; the Tigers fell to Missouri 85-73 last Saturday. Auburn is now 22-4 overall and 9-4 in the SEC, which gives Kentucky a two-game lead in the SEC rankings.
