UK’s women’s swim team kicked off the dual meet season yesterday with a dominating win over SEC rival Vanderbilt. This was the first official competition of the season; it followed the annual “Sun Shall Shine” intrasquad meet that traditionally kicks off the season for the Cats.
Things got off to a fast start for what would be a very impressive showing for the Cats. The first event, the 200-yard medley relay, ended in a 1-2 finish for Kentucky. The “B” relay, consisting of Asia Seidt, Madison Winstead, Kayla Churman, and Meredith Whisenhunt, took first, finishing less than a second ahead of Kentucky’s “A” relay.
