Kentucky junior guard Rhyne Howard is one of the best women’s basketball players in the country, but she has not always been comfortable in the spotlight.
She had no trouble speaking up Wednesday though while leading chants at the front of a march for social justice through campus organized by the UK women’s basketball team.
“I definitely got comfortable, especially seeing everyone was supporting me,” Howard said. “They were like, keep going, more chants. … Usually I am kind of shy and I don’t say much, but today it was like, this is the chance you need to be heard, this is chance for me to get everything out there that I need to say and bring the awareness.
