The junior college star was easily the most important recruit in UK’s 2018 class, as he has a chance to compete for the starting quarterback job in 2018 with Stephen Johnson graduating.
Ironically, Johnson was also a JUCO signee before taking over the QB job in his first season. Wilson hopes to do the same, and he’ll have a great chance to do so as an early enrollee who will compete in spring football.
But what makes Wilson’s pledge even bigger is that he has three years of eligibility left. So even if he can’t win the job this year over senior Drew Barker, Wilson will still have two more years to become UK’s starting QB.
