LEXINGTON, Ky. --- Kentucky senior pitcher Meagan Prince continued her dominance of the Lexington NCAA Tournament regional with a complete-game shutout to lead the Wildcats to a 1-0 win over Illinois to advance to Sunday’s regional final.
Prince surrendered three hits in seven innings while striking out three batters and walking none, one day after pitching six scoreless innings in a win over DePaul to open the regional. She outdueled Illinois starter Breanna Wonderly, who also surrendered just three hits in the game but was undone by a UK sacrifice fly from right fielder Breanne Ray in the fourth inning.
