Make it two medals for the University of Kentucky rifle team at the Tokyo Olympics.
Two days after UK senior Will Shaner won gold in the men's 10-meter air rifle, junior Mary Tucker took home silver in the mixed team 10-meter air rifle Tuesday. Tucker and U.S. teammate Lucas Kozeniesky reached the gold medal match, where they fell 17-13 to China.
Tucker hit her first five shots in the gold medal match in the 10-point ring before faltering with a 9.8 on the final shot of the match.
The silver medal represents an impressive bounce back for Tucker after she finished sixth in the women's 10-meter air rifle, an event she was predicted to win gold by USA TODAY.
