Heartbreaking news this morning: Kentucky basketball legend Frank Ramsey has passed away at the age of 86. The Madisonville native played for Adolph Rupp from 1950-1954, and he helped the Cats claim the National Championship title in 1951. He was also a member of the undefeated team in 1953-54.

Following his time at Kentucky, the 6-foot-3 guard was selected by the Boston Celtics as the No. 5 player in the draft. He played his entire 9-year professional career with the Celtics and, in that time, he helped the team win an astounding seven championships.
