With the loss to Tennessee down in Knoxville today, Kentucky likely dropped all the way to the No. 3 seed in the SEC Tournament. The No. 3 seed plays the late Friday night game, which isn’t ideal for several reasons, mostly because it’s a very quick turnaround before a Saturday afternoon semifinal. Ole Miss was the last No. 3 seed to win the tournament, back in 2013.
LSU held its position atop the SEC standings with a good road win at Alabama today; we obviously know what Tennessee did. LSU will likely hold the top seed with Tennessee taking the second, setting up a potential Saturday semifinal showdown with Kentucky in Nashville.
