Former Kentucky basketball star Keldon Johnson explains why he decided to keep his name in the NBA draft. Jon Hale, Louisville Courier Journal
LEXINGTON – Rarely has the NBA draft decision carousel been as kind to Kentucky basketball as it was this spring.
From the day he elected to return to UK for his sophomore year, PJ Washington was all but guaranteed to be leaving after the 2018-19 season. The fact he developed into one of the best players in the country removed any lingering doubt about that decision.
Projected first-round picks rarely return to school, so Keldon Johnson and Tyler Herro always had to be considered in the “likely departures” category.
