Unfortunately, this is the second KSR obituary of the evening. We regret to inform you that College Football Hall of Fame lineman Lou Michaels passed away at the age of 80 in his hometown of Swoyersville, Pa.
Michaels began his career at UK under Blanton Collier in 1954. In our current era of specialization, Michaels was a man that could do it all, for all four downs. He was a lineman on both sides of the ball, and he excelled on special teams as a kicker and punter. Even though he wasn’t a “skill player,” he was credited with single-handedly beating Tennessee his Sophomore and Senior seasons.
