UK Football: Gunnar Hoak replaces Terry Wilson at QB

It was an unideal beginning for Kentucky Wildcats quarterback Terry Wilson, who was making his first career start for the Wildcats in Saturday’s season opener hosting the Central Michigan Chippewas.

Wilson put together a first half of 6-11 passing for 38 yards with seven carries for 20 yards but also tacked on two forced interceptions and a fumble. Aside from AJ Rose and Benny Snell bursting through gaps for two long touchdown runs, UK’s offense was dryer than the Sahara desert.

However, when Wilson went down and to the locker room due to injury, his practice competitor, Gunnar Hoak, entered the game.
