UK falls to Auburn 30-27

By Jordan Ondrof

It was a game of missed opportunities as the Cats fell to the Auburn Tigers 30-27 in the first Thursday night game in Lexington since 1939.

Inconsistency has haunted quarterback Patrick Towles this season and this game was no different. Despite throwing for 359 yards, he is haunted by an interception in the end zone during the first half that would have tied the game at 14.

“One thing about the first half is, there wasn’t a lot of possessions,” head coach Mark Stoops said. “They were moving the ball on us, and we were moving it on them.
