LEXINGTON, Ky. — Add another question for the Kentucky football team’s defensive line this fall.
Senior defensive end Alvonte Bell, who missed spring practice while rehabbing a knee injury but was expected to compete for the starting defensive end job in UK’s 3-4 base defense, has been dismissed from the team for an undisclosed violation of team rules, UK coach Mark Stoops announced at Tuesday’s Governor’s Cup Luncheon.
Bell totaled 27 tackles with one tackle for loss and one-half sack in 2016 before injuring his knee in Kentucky’s TaxSlayer Bowl loss to Georgia Tech. He also served a one-game suspension last season for Kentucky’s Oct.
