The No. 1 kicker and punter in the class of 2022 is a Wildcat, as Boyle County’s own Jackson Smith announced his commitment to Kentucky this morning on KSR.
Smith, the son of former All-SEC punter Andy Smith, chose the Wildcats over offers and interest from the likes of Ohio State, Florida and Louisville, among others.
“I’ve talked to schools like Princeton, Florida, Ohio State, Louisville, Oregon State, other Ivy League schools, a good mixture of schools,” Smith said on Kentucky Sports Radio. “But I’m excited to say I want to be a (Kentucky) Wildcat.”
Smith, a two-time First Team All-State placekicker, also serves as Boyle County’s punter and lines up at outside linebacker and wide receiver.
