One of the young men who will sign with the University of Kentucky on National Signing Day here in a few weeks is in the running for the state’s Mr. Football award.
Lafayette quarterback Walker Wood, who took this year’s Paul Hornung Award, was named one of eight Mr. Football finalists when the list was released by the AP earlier today. He is joined on that list by Landon Arnett (Mayfield), Spencer Blackburn (Trinity), Geordan Blanton (Johnson Central), Trajon Bright (Mayfield), Jamale Carothers (Bowling Green), Jake Johnson (Pulaski County) and Tanner Morgan (Ryle).
The winner will be announced later this month.
