Kentucky's John Calpari on tough win over Vanderbilt Matt Stone, Louisville Courier Journal
Amid excitement over Kentucky football’s 10-win season, UK basketball freshman Ashton Hagans would not be swayed.
“I'm a real Georgia football fan – still,” Hagans said this past October. “Can't change up on the home team.”
Tuesday’s 7 p.m. game between Kentucky (12-3, 2-1 SEC) and Georgia (9-6, 1-2) will be a homecoming for Hagans, who was born in Cartersville, Georgia, and attended high school in Covington, about an hour from the University of Georgia’s campus in Athens.
His cousin Trey Thompkins once was an All-SEC basketball star at UGA, and friends and family have been snatching up tickets for Tuesday night's game while anticipating Hagans’ return with UK’s team.
